• Soon to be a hypnotized man,
as his nose breathed in the smoke,
directly pummeling the pathway to the pneumopsyche• Before he could escape the psycho, this psychosis straddled his subconscious like a conscious submarine •
—a visceral volition coalition at cost, being the coercion of character•
- Pneumo- (from Pneuma):In philosophical, biblical, and classical contexts, this means "spirit," "divine breath," or "spiritual life".
- -psyche (from Psyche): This means "soul," "mind," "self," or "the seat of human personality and emotion". [1, 2]
Overall MeaningPneumopsyche refers to the conjunction of the spirit and the soul, or the interaction between a person's spiritual nature and their psychological/mental self. [1, 2]Contextual UsesTheology and Philosophy: In ancient Greek thought (like Stoicism) and Christian theology, a distinction is often made between the body (soma), the soul (psyche, the mind/emotions), and the spirit (pneuma, the part that connects to the divine). "Pneumopsyche" looks at where those latter two overlap. [1, 2, 3]Early Psychology: Before modern psychology became strictly secular, early thinkers used terms like this to explore how a person's spiritual beliefs or "vital breath" directly influenced their mental state, character, and personality.
