Hypnosis

Meditation

  • Brainwashing

    • Indoctrination

Brain Activity Differences:

Hypnosis

vs Meditation

vs Indoctrination

vs Brainwashing

Common EEG Frequency Bands (Reference)

BrainwaveFrequencyTypical Mental State
Delta0.5–4 HzDeep sleep
Theta4–8 HzDreaming, trance, deep imagery
Alpha8–12 HzRelaxed wakefulness
Beta13–30 HzActive thinking, focus
Gamma30–80+ HzHigh-level cognition, integration

Hypnosis vs. Meditation

  • Both involve focused attention and can produce a deep sense of relaxation .

  • They are used by psychotherapists

  • for similar conditions like

  • depression

  • acute/chronic pain

  • and substance abuse .gg

  • Differences

  • Meditation

  • often focuses on a

  • single stimulus

  • with the intention of

  • clearing the mind

  • and may have a

  • spiritual element

  • absent in hypnosis.

  • Hypnosis often has

  • a more specific purpose,

  • directing participants to

  • focus on

  • selected imagery

  • feelings

  • or sensations.

  • Cut out of brainwashed man hypnotized with strange sleazy expression wearing leatherbn

  • Typical EEG Findings

    • Alpha increase (8–12 Hz) in frontal cortex
    • Sometimes gamma bursts (30–80 Hz) in experienced meditators
    • Theta varies depending on meditation type

    Cognitive Characteristics

    • Sustained attention
    • Awareness without reactivity
    • Reduced mind-wandering

    Brain Regions

    • Prefrontal cortex
    • Anterior cingulate
    • Insula

    Meditation generally produces

  • relaxed awareness

  • rather than trance.

  • Brain Activity Differences

  • EEG studies show increases

  • in alpha power band

  • in central and temporal

  • locations during hypnosis,

  • and in the

  • frontal cortex

  • during meditation.

  • Increased

  • theta power band activity

  • is observed

  • hypnosis but not meditation.

Hypnosis vs. Brainwashing and Indoctrination

  • Hypnosis

  • A state of

  • focused attention increased suggestibility

  • and heightened imagination,

  • typically induced through

  • verbal suggestions

  • and

  • guided imagery

  • for therapeutic or entertainment purposes.

  • The individual remains aware and in control. It requires consent and respects individual autonomyBrainwashed empty eyed shocked man attached to a machine with wires in head

    Typical EEG Results

    • Alpha increase (8–12 Hz)
    • Theta increase (4–8 Hz) — especially frontal and temporal regions
    • Reduced default mode network activity

    Cognitive Characteristics

    • Focused attention
    • Reduced peripheral awareness
    • Increased suggestibility
    • Enhanced imagery

    Brain Regions Often Involved

    • Anterior cingulate cortex
    • Prefrontal cortex
    • Temporal areas

    Hypnosis resembles a

  • focused trance state,

  • combining relaxed alpha

  • with theta imagery processing.

  • Brainwashing

  • A psychological process

  • that involves the

  • systematic and intentional

  • manipulation of an individual's

  • beliefs,

  • attitudes,

  • and behaviors,

  • often through

sleep deprivation

hypnosis,

and other forms

of psychological coercion

  • It aims to forcibly

  • changing an individual's

  • beliefs and behaviors

  • through extreme

  • psychological pressure

  • and manipulation,

  • breaking down the sense of self

  • Mine controlled shirtless man in shock attached to a brainwash machine with wires on heaeIt was universally
  • condemned

  • as unethical and illegal

  • until the push for

  • authoritarianism

  • started letting brainwashing

  • occur via information warfare.

  • A seeding of fascism, due to fear, spread across globe in 2001. The Republican administration in the United States at that time perpetuated propaganda with a populist appeal

  • toward protectionist views.

Brainwashingis a

social-psychological process,

not measurable EEG state.

Methods Often Used

  • Sleep deprivation
  • Stress and fear
  • Isolation
  • Repetition of beliefs

Brain Effects

These conditions can produce:

  • Stress response activation
  • Cortisol increases
  • Reduced prefrontal reasoning
  • Increased amygdala dominance

EEG

May show:

  • stress-related beta activity
  • cognitive fatigue patterns

But again no specific

brainwave pattern

defines brainwashing.

  • Indoctrination

  • The process of teaching an individual or a group of people to accept a particular set of beliefs or ideas, often without questioning their validity or considering alternative perspectives.

  • Embedding into impressionable minds

  • Ideology

  • norms

  • Labels: Stereotypes, tropes, Cliches

  • values

  • and morality

  • of specific social structures.

  • It can be

  • intentional or unintentional

  • and occurs in various settings like

  • religious,

  • political,

  • and educational institutions.

  • While it can instill

  • positive values,

  • politeness

  • through mannerisms,

  • it also leads to

  • conformist closed-mindedness
    and

  • ignorant intolerance.

  • Cut out of brainwashed man hypnotized with strange sleazy surreal submission kink

  • Its ethicality

  • depends on whether it's

  • coercive or manipulative

  • and respects critical thinking.

Indoctrination is not a distinct brainwave state.

It is a learning and social influence process, not a neurological trance.

Neural Systems Involved

  • Prefrontal cortex (belief evaluation)
  • Amygdala (emotional reinforcement)
  • Reward circuitry (dopamine pathways)

EEG Pattern

No unique signature. Often shows patterns related to:

  • Attention (beta)
  • Emotional arousal
  • Memory consolidation

Indoctrination operates through:

  • repetition
  • social pressure
  • emotional conditioning

rather than altered consciousness.

  • For example, in the United States in 2025-2026 the GOP conservative government, both at a state and federal level took to censoring certain books.

  • "Oregonleatherboy" in smoke letters wearing leather blazer shirtless smoking cigar with glowing eyes blowing cloud on man leashed with smoke
  • The Handmaiden Tale by Margaret Atwood which depicts no more adult ideas than say The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Some might view the Hollywood depiction which clearly is a super-sexualized, viscerally violent interpretation which no doubt the kids have seen. Atwood poignantly paints the picture with a perfect πŸ–Œ️ brush of brilliance tackled with tact accomplishing subliminal subversive activism evoking entertainment. Does it get better than that?

  • All Boys Aren't Blue by George M. Johnson was banned in Texas, Florida and several other conservative leaning districts. The double meaning in that title is genius, but I'm also wondering if the color blue was lobbying the Ways of Masculinity Committee. Godless forbid, we base our favorite colors on mental merit not just the preferences of our parent.

  • The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison was banned in Missouri, Utah and Florida. This author is a Nobel Prize winning beautiful, brilliant spokesperson for the soaring spirit. Beloved is another of her books πŸ“š often banned which is ignorant. Bet none of the simple-minded, short-sighted senile son-of-a-rich suckers for censorship read even a page of these books. Toni was the best author to live in contemporary culture please go read or listen today.
